This consultation is for people who have a credible route to Germany but have not settled on the right city. It also suits newcomers reconsidering an initial choice after learning more about work patterns, rents or family logistics.
Before the call, you complete a concise questionnaire covering income range, expected workplace, household, languages, housing budget, travel needs, preferred social pace and non-negotiables. We then compare up to three cities. Typical combinations include Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne for cultural work; Munich, Frankfurt and Berlin for internationally connected careers; or Leipzig alongside a larger city when space and cost carry more weight.
Your fee includes:
- a review of your questionnaire before the meeting;
- a private 75-minute video consultation with a senior relocation adviser;
- comparison of up to three German cities and selected districts;
- discussion of rental pressure, commuting patterns, airport and rail access, childcare context, green space and local social character;
- a written brief, delivered within three business days, recording the shortlist, trade-offs and next research steps.
The fee does not include visa or tax advice, property search, apartment applications, school placement, registration appointments or guarantees about rent and availability.
How the consultation unfolds
We begin by testing the assumptions behind your shortlist. A city can look affordable while requiring a long commute; a high salary can lose its advantage to housing and childcare; a thriving scene may be irrelevant if it is inaccessible from the districts you can rent in.
The middle of the call compares each location using the same priorities, so trade-offs remain visible. The final portion decides whether one city leads, whether a research trip is needed, or whether two options should remain open until an employment or housing question is resolved.
What to prepare
Bring your likely gross household income, monthly warm-rent ceiling, work locations or remote-work rules, expected move window and any family requirements. If you already have apartment listings, school names or neighbourhood suggestions from friends, send them with the questionnaire. They often reveal useful expectations to test.
